teen mass for the millenium
As we approached the new Millennium in 1999, I wanted to mark the event by dedicating it to the Lord with ANNO DOMINI, a Mass for the Millennium. Since that time, the Mass was translated into various languages, celebrated around Europe, in the USA and Latin America, and released in Spanish. At our many youth events around the USA, specially the diocesan youth rallies, I became aware of the need for a different translation - to modern Teen culture.
So here is TEEN MASS for the Millennium. Gone are the orchestras and monks and classical voices, in favor of a more familiar guitar drums sound - in fact, the instrumentation of a typical Teen Mass. This Teen Mass has already begun to be celebrated at youth events, and I hope it will encourage young people in worship for many years to come.
